I guess this was more to depress some people with slow
simulator ;-)

OK, let's refuel it:

time sim sample0.world sample.ant sample.ant
-> 1.228s

That's on a Pentium-m 1.7 GHz, Cygwin/gcc running XP.

That's great!  And this explains why your code is twice
faster than my interpretive simulator (taking MHz into
account).
