[Icfp04-discuss] gb0505.ant -- lightning entry, better late than never

It's time to write up my tournament entry before everyone forgets the
rules...

(The name means Graffiti model B with adjustable parameters 5 and 5;
the "Graffiti" in the name refers to it being a family of designs
so sophisticated that they had started to use the marker system.)

It was a fun challenge and seemed technically very well done: well
chosen, clearly specified, and tuned to support lots of interesting
solutions. Thanks to all concerned.

I haven't noticed any other contestants that just did a lightning
entry and then moved on to other things, but it came naturally to me.
72 hours seemed like a dauntingly long time, at least this year, and I
didn't have a team, or the necessary individual ego to slug it out
solo with the big boys.

The Graffiti ants systematically make radial directional paths from
the corners of the nest, and random undirected radial paths
intersecting food they can't carry; other than that, they basically
bounce around randomly looking for food or looking for the nest: no
martial arts tricks, no guarding food, no global paths, or any other
clever stuff to speak of.

Earlier today I poked around looking at various other ant writeups,
and ran a little tournament on boards 1 and 3 with an unscientific
selection of other opponents, getting
  gb0505 184 ; me
  intelligAnt -4574 ; Team Monkeys
  kiss1 752 ; K.I.S.S. team
  kiss2 1446 ; K.I.S.S. team again
  nikodemus-2 569 ; from another #lisp IRCer
road 1623 ; Team Road Crew
verifying that there are plenty of ants out there capable of kicking
Graffiti's little hexapodal abdomen. I haven't tried to put together
a tournament of only lightning-born opponents; possibly results from
such a limited field would be less uninspiring.

The .ant file is appended below; the source (as a trivial CL program
which returns a list for input to an ant assembler) with comments can
be found at

(below a copy of the .ant file).
