We would like to announce the opening of the 2010 scholarship competition
for the CMU|Portugal Dual Degree PhD program in Computer Science.

The CMU|Portugal Dual Degree PhD program in Computer Science aims to
promote the education of high-quality researchers, instructors, and
innovation agents in all subareas of Computer Science of mutual interest.

The CMU|Portugal initiative offers an extraordinary opportunity for
outstanding candidates to enroll in Carnegie Mellon's Computer Science
top-ranking PhD program, and get involved in joint research
activities distributed between Europe and the United States.

Typically, students accepted in the program will spend two years at
Carnegie Mellon University and three years in Portugal, being
co-advised by a faculty member from Carnegie Mellon and a faculty
member from an accredited partner university in Portugal (see below).

Scholarships will support student and co-advisor travel, and stipend
and tuition fees for both Carnegie Mellon and the Portuguese
institution.

Candidates must submit a single application to the submission site at
Carnegie Mellon, were all details on the admission package may be found,

They should also indicate in their statement of purpose the Portuguese
partner school of his preference, if possible.

Notice that some requirements (eg., TOEFL and GRE, letters of
reference) may take some time to get, so candidates are advised to obtain
them well in advance as the admission process is very selective.
