[TYPES/announce] Nominations for ACM SIGPLAN Awards due by 5 January 2018

Every year SIGPLAN seeks nominations for the following awards:
* Programming Languages Achievement Award, to recognize an individual or
individuals who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the
field of programming languages. Previous winners include Simon Peyton, Luca
Cardelli and Neil Jones.
* Programming Languages Software Award, to recognize the development a
software system that has had a significant impact on programming language
research, implementations, and tools. Previous winners include the V8
JavaScript Engine, the Z3 Theorem Prover and the The GNU Compiler
Collection (GCC).
* Distinguished Service Award, awarded on the basis of value and degree of
services to the Programming Languages Community. Previous winners include
Phil Wadler, Dan Grossman and Simon Peyton Jones.
* Robin Milner Young Researcher Award, to recognize outstanding
contributions by young investigators in the area of programming languages.
Previous winners include Derek Dreyer, Stephanie Weirich and David Walker.
* John C. Reynolds Doctoral Dissertation Award award, to the author of an
outstanding doctoral dissertation in the area of Programming Languages.
Previous winners include Ramana Kumar, Shachar Itzhaky and Vilhelm Sjöberg.
