Also, then it could perhaps form a U like with the current icon. Or, one way of having two endpoints would be to ditch the bubbles, and have the arrow wrap around the back of the (semi-transparent) orb, so that it would look like one endpoint is in front and the other is more distant. I have just formed a new version of the icon, so it is more like "U" for Unison :) It is not so good, but when I make it in 3D Blender, it could seem more realistic (eg. the back arrow will be smaller, because of perspective and more spherical then now). If this is the way, please push me more :) http://nikdo.org/s/unison.png (Bitmap, eg. for your browser) http://nikdo.org/s/unison.svg (Vector, eg. for Inkscape) Vitezslav 2007/9/14, Ryan Newton : > It looks very nice, but it might be better if there were two > endpoints to the arrow -- for synchronization! I like it, I'd love to see a more realistic version. In my view, the final version is the best. thx Vita From alan.schmitt at polytechnique.org Sun Sep 23 04:10:24 2007 From: alan.schmitt at polytechnique.org (Alan Schmitt) Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2007 10:10:24 +0200 Subject: [Unison-hackers] Logotype design In-Reply-To: References: <8ACB3463-D2FC-4515-8AD2-FFFD46764CBD@gmail.com> <78C7E790-2617-4CC3-A804-236918CCD2D1@polytechnique.org> Message-ID: On 22 sept. 07, at 12:32, Vitezslav Valka wrote: >> I like it, I'd love to see a more realistic version. >> >> Alan Schmitt > > Hi Alan, > > the updated design is on the: > > http://nikdo.org/s/unison.png > http://nikdo.org/s/unison.svg > > If the link is not working, please wait about 12 hours and click it > again (someone redirected DNS for my domain). > > In my view, the final version is the best. I really like what you're doing and I want to thank you for the effort you're putting into this. Strangely enough, my favorite version is the first one: it has kind of a dreamlike quality that disappeared in the 3d version. Maybe the contrast between the two branches of the U is too strong: the forward one could be less yellow (a bit more orange), and the back one less dark. This way one may see better the little bubbles on the left (which I really like). Also, you it be possible to anti-alias the edges of the arrow: the seem a little jagged in the biggest icon.
