For those of you completing your PhD before September 1, 2024, I'd like to draw your attention to the Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow position at Northeastern University's Khoury College of Computer Sciences.
One of the focus areas is Next-Generation Software, which includes programming languages, software engineering, software for next-generation hardware, and reliability and robustness of software.
Details and application link: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.khoury.northeastern.edu/research/postdoctoral-fellowship/__;!!IBzWLUs!UWSKMMd17GWqQo7Bq0AdpN_JtF4YP_z2zDfAWBSyF_woXn4OEoOzPFrRb7Z1CgPvjUwEPuVkVB3Kxy2__C5HzFUxuQd9bw$
Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply by Feb 20 but applications received after that will continue to be considered.
Compared to other postdoctoral positions, this fellowship provides an unusual degree of independence. While the fellow will be part of a research group at Khoury College — providing opportunities for collaboration and for initiating new research projects — and will be assigned one or more faculty mentors, they will not have a traditional postdoctoral advisor who directs their research. This model allows researchers the independence, flexibility, and support required to solve the fields’ most complex problems. The two-year postdoctoral fellowship provides researchers with discretionary funds for travel and research expenses, the opportunity to apply for external funding so they can gain valuable experience with proposal writing, as well as close guidance from one of Khoury’s faculty members who will prepare the fellows to apply for tenure-track positions at the completion of the fellowship.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have about the position.
Best,
Amal
