This is an invitation to submit proposals for courses in all areas of
Computer Science to be included in the program of the "36ª Escuela de

from July 24th to 28th, 2023. The Escuela de Ciencias Informáticas (ECI)
has been held annually at our department since 1987. The goal of ECI is to
offer to Computer Science students and practitioners intensive, top-level
courses on topics not covered by the regular curricula. These courses are
taught by prestigious lecturers from universities and institutions from all
around the world. Each year, between 400 and 800 students participate in
ECI, taking one, two or three courses each.

COURSE FORMAT

ECI courses last 15 hours in total (3 hours per day from Monday to Friday)
and are aimed to advanced undergraduate or graduate students. These courses
should include a final evaluation, which can be a take-home to be sent by
e-⁠mail to the lecturer. Submissions for courses to be taught in Spanish or
English are acceptable. The school will cover travel, hotel, and local
expenses of ECI 2023 lecturers.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Proposals should be submitted using the following form:

The submission must be done in PDF format, containing only the following
sections:

* Abstract (At most 1300 characters)

* Objectives of the course (At most 1300 characters)

* Topic (You must choose among the first level of ACM CCS (

* Student's preferred background (The academic background the students
should have in order to be able to understand the course. A general
description in the form of course names or topics will suffice.).

* Will the course have a lab component? [Yes/No] (Optionally, your course
can have a lab component for hands-on practice. In this case, the ECI
organization will assign lab space with computers for the students).

* Optional: Local contact. (A local contact in the Department of Computer
Science, FCEyN, UBA is desirable, but not mandatory)

* A CV must be attached to the end of the proposal.

(ECI) se lleva a cabo en nuestro departamento anualmente desde el año 1987.
Tiene como objetivo ofrecer a alumnos de ciencias de la computación y
profesionales del medio, cursos intensivos de posgrado, especialización
y/⁠o actualización de alto nivel científico, sobre temas habitualmente no
cubiertos por el currículo de grado. Estos cursos son dictados por
prestigiosos profesores de otras universidades u otras instituciones,
extranjeras y nacionales. A las distintas ediciones de la ECI han
concurrido entre 400 y 800 personas que tomaron hasta 3 cursos cada una.

FORMATO DE LOS CURSOS

Los cursos propuestos deberán comprender 15 horas (de lunes a viernes con
una carga diaria de 3 horas). Los mismos deberán ser dirigidos a
estudiantes de grado universitario avanzado/postgrado. Cada curso deberá
tener una evaluación final, la cual podrá ser un trabajo entregado por
e-mail. Los cursos podrán ser dictados en idioma Español o Inglés. La
organización de la ECI cubre los gastos de pasajes, alojamiento, y viáticos
de sus profesores. No se pagan honorarios.

* Bibliografía sugerida (Al menos tres libros o papers relacionados con el
tema del curso)

* Prerrequisitos (Los conocimientos que los estudiantes deberían tener para
poder seguir el curso. Una descripción general en forma de nombre de cursos
o temas es suficiente).

* ¿El curso utilizará laboratorio con computadoras? [Sí/No] (Opcionalmente,
su curso puede utilizar laboratorio, o práctica. En ese caso, la
organización de la ECI le asignará un espacio de laboratorio con
computadoras para los estudiantes).

* Opcional: Contacto local. (Un contacto local en el Departamento de
Computación, FCEyN, UBA es deseable, pero no obligatorio)

* Al final de la propuesta debe adjuntar un CV actualizado del profesor.
