A fixed term, research position, up to 36 months, is available starting
earliest 01 April 2005. Application deadline is 17 March 2005

     Job Description

Working with the database group in connection with a recovery funded 
database project.  The project  is to develop a security model for XML 
and provide techniques for specifying, enforcing and analyzing access 
and inference control for XML data and queries.  The positions are open 
to qualified researchers with a solid background in database 
theory/systems, and with interests in contributing to the following 
fields: database security, information theory, query 
rewriting/answering, incomplete information, database updates, reasoning 
techniques for security analysis, approximation algorithms.

You will have a Phd degree or equivalent and with expertise in one or 
more of the topics above. Successful applicants will be provided 
opportunities to lead research, teach database courses and apply for 
research grants.
